This article explains how to automatically promote positions via Personio's Auto-posting feature. We will also explain some additional settings for position postings on LinkedIn and Indeed.
What is Position Auto-Posting
Position auto-posting is a new functionality of Personio's Promote feature. When auto-posting is activated for your account, every existing and new position that is published in Personio is automatically posted on a range of job boards for free. This enables your positions to achieve a wider reach, especially internationally, and automates the process of posting a position on a selection of platforms.
The job boards that are included in the auto-posting feature are the following:
Note By activating auto-posting for a job board, you automatically accept the job board's terms and conditions.
- Indeed (all positions posted on Indeed are also posted automatically on Glassdoor, SimplyHired, and Resume.com)
- Adzuna
- Joblift
- Jobrapido
- Jooble
- Monster (not available in Germany)
- Nuevoo/Talent.com
- Recruit.net
- Careerjet
- Jobsora
During the activation process, you can select which job boards you would like to use for auto-posting. Once auto-posting is activated, all published positions will be posted on the selected job boards.
Tip The free versions of LinkedIn, and Indeed that are included in the auto-posting feature, will not have the same reach as paid postings. Sponsored postings rank higher in keywords with postings from competitors, which is why organic postings can quickly lose visibility. Therefore, we still recommend using the paid promote feature to achieve the same results.
Requirements to use Auto-Posting
To be able to activate and use the auto-posting feature, you need to fulfil the following requirements:
Requirement | Notes |
To activate the auto-posting feature, you need to have access to the Recruiting Settings. |
Access-rights can be granted via Settings > People > Employee Roles > Access rights. |
You need an active Personio career page. |
⚠️ Note Auto-posting is not working with career pages that are integrated via XML as long as the Personio career page is deactivated.
|
You need to ensure that offices that are assigned to a position have a complete address configured (especially ZIP code, City, State and Country) |
The office assigned to a position can be found in the position's meta-data.
|
If you have subcompanies, the positions of the subcompany need to be included into the parent career page. |
To do so, go to Settings > Recruiting > Recruiting > Career page > choose a subcompany from the dropdown and activate Show positions on parent career page. |
How to Activate Auto-Posting
- To activate position auto-posting for your account, you can either go to Recruiting > Positions > Position's title > Promotion. In the tile for Auto-Posting, click Activate feature.
Or, go to Settings > Recruiting > Recruiting > Promotion. - In the section Auto-posting, click on Select job boards and decide on which job boards your published positions should be posted.
Note You will not be able to select the job boards as long as you don't fulfil the above-mentioned requirements. - Then click Save and Apply changes.
To see which job boards have been configured for a position, go to Recruiting > Positions > click on the title of your position > Promotion. Click on the tile for Auto-posting to see which auto-posting job boards have been activated for your position.
Note Auto-postings in general can take up to 3 days until they get published on the respective job boards. For the first auto-posting on Indeed, the job board will conduct a more thorough review, which can take up to 2 weeks.
Configure Specific Settings for LinkedIn and Indeed
For LinkedIn and Indeed, you have the option to configure specific settings such as Indeed Apply or a link between your company profile and a position posting on LinkedIn.
To activate the link between your LinkedIn postings and your company profile on LinkedIn, go to the section Job board settings and enter your LinkedIn Company ID. To get your LinkedIn Company ID, follow the instructions described in this documentation.
Note It is crucial to enter your LinkedIn Company ID when using auto-posting. If you do not enter your LinkedIn Company ID, job postings will not be posted on LinkedIn via auto-posting.
Indeed
Indeed Apply allows candidates to directly apply to a position posted on Indeed using their Indeed resume instead of being redirected to the Personio career pages. With the option of these one-click applications, the application process for candidates becomes simpler and faster. For more information on Indeed Apply, take a look at this article.
Note When activating auto-posting for Indeed, Indeed Apply will automatically be activated.
FAQs on Auto-Posting
Tip When you need to hire quickly, open roles that are hard to fill, or attract talent in a competitive field, you should consider sponsoring your job.
This way, candidates will be transferred to the position page or application form provided by Personio.
Tip If you are usually using your own application form, keep in mind that for auto-postings, candidates will still be forwarded to the Personio application form. Please check therefore which application form fields you defined in Settings > Recruiting > Recruiting > Career page > Application form settings.
Tip If you are based outside of Germany, you can also use the ZIP code 00000 for remote positions.
