This article explains how you can use our Promote feature to promote open jobs simultaneously on multiple external job boards, and outlines how you can manage your postings. The posting process takes place directly in Personio to save valuable time and minimize your administrative work.
Options to promote jobs via the Promote feature
Once you have created and published a job in Personio, and all prerequisites for the promotion of jobs have been met, you can post the job on external job boards to attract candidates.
To facilitate easy posting of your vacancies across different job boards, we work with GoHiring, our partner for the promotion of job postings. The Promote feature offers various free and premium job boards and posting types. Here you can find a list of all available job boards.
With Personio's Promote feature, you have different options to book the job's external promotion:
- Option 1: You can book boards separately, depending on your needs.
- Option 2: You can take advantage of the Personio Posting Bundles. These bundles are cost-saving promoting packages with specific amounts of postings on specific job boards that are tailored to your needs. Learn more about Personio Posting Bundles – Tailored to your Recruiting Strategy.
- Option 3: If you already have contracts in place with external job boards, you can store these frame contracts in Personio and use them with the Promote feature. Personio will then not calculate any further charges for the respective job board, and the billing for the postings will take place between you and the job board. Book an external posting
You can post a job on external job boards via the Promotion feature. If you have just created or edited a job, the Promotion feature can be accessed directly after publishing it.
Alternatively, navigate to Recruiting > Jobs > Your job's title > Promotion. Any postings that you may have already booked are displayed here. Click Promote this job to start the process and to be taken to the list of available job boards. You can follow these steps to proceed with the promotion of your job:
Step 1: Select all job boards where you would like to promote your job
The Suggested job boards at the top are proposed based on the information provided in the posting. Underneath, you will find the Free job boards and other paid Premium job boards. You can filter job boards by Price, Duration, Country, and Target audience. If one of the job boards from this list is not shown in the available job boards of the Promote feature, you can request it directly at GoHiring via this form, selecting Einen neuen Recruiting Kanal anfragen (German only). If you are an international customer, you can email service@gohiring.com, and request the job board.
Tip
The system always preselects the Country that was entered in the job location. To advertise the job internationally, select the preferred language at the bottom under Post this job in before finalizing the posting.
Step 2: Preview the posting
Click Next. This will take you to a preview of the posting, where you can review which details Personio will transmit to the job board. At the top of the preview, you will see information about how your posting will be displayed in the job board. Depending on the selected ad type, the job board either adopts the design shown in the preview or integrates the details of the posting into its own design.
Step 3: Checkout
Click Proceed to checkout for a final review of your order. In the order overview you will see the selected job boards, runtime, language, and cost. To finalize the booking, click Place order.
Notes
▶︎ If you are using a Personio posting bundle or have individual frame contracts with job boards in place and stored in Personio, the displayed cost details will also include information on how much of your package has already been used.
▶︎ Ensure that your payment information is stored in your account under Settings > Support > Subscription and Billing > Billing information so that publication costs can be settled via Personio. You'll also find all of your invoices here for download.
▶︎ It is currently only possible to promote job ads directly from the main legal entity. This means that both paid and organic postings from the main legal entity and its subcompanies appear on the job boards as ads from the main company. However, if you use tracking links, you can also track the ads for subcompanies. Learn more about tracking links.
Manage and renew postings
Navigate to the Promote tab in your job's details to see all job boards on which your job has been promoted. You will see the following information:
- Status of the posting
- Job board name
- Posting runtime
For more detailed information, click on the respective job board. In case the posting is expired, click Renew to book the selected posting again. This takes you directly to the preview.
Note
Static job boards (such as free job boards) will not communicate the status of the booked posting to Personio. That means you will need to check the status yourself on the respective provider's website.
FAQs
Depending on the job board, there are different ways to Edit a posting on an external job board and to Cancel a posting on an external job board.
Once you have successfully booked your posting in Personio, it will be transferred to the relevant job boards, where it will be manually checked. This process can take anywhere from a few minutes to several business days. Personio has no direct influence on the time it takes to publish a job externally. If a posting does not fulfil the requirements, it will not be published, or it will be blocked. Check the Status of your posting to see if it has been published.
Note
If you stored a frame contract in Personio, and it is the first time you post a job using the frame contract, it can take an additional full week for the contract to be reviewed and the job to be published.
If the publication of your job takes one or more business days, the runtime will be adjusted accordingly so that your job is online for the full amount of time you booked.
