This article addresses frequently asked questions on Personio's auto-posting feature. With auto-posting, you can automatically post your jobs on multiple job boards for free. Learn how to activate auto-posting in our dedicated article.
What's the difference between sponsored and organic postings?
- Sponsored postings are postings you pay for using our paid promotion feature. These postings have more visibility and can help you to hire quickly.
- Organic postings are postings you share for free using our auto-posting feature. These postings lose visibility over time.
If I integrate jobs on my company's career page via XML, can I use auto-posting?
You need an active Personio career page to use auto-posting. If you integrate jobs on your own career page via XML, you also need to enable the Personio (parent) career page. This way, candidates go to the job page or application form provided by Personio. To enable the Personio career page, go to Settings, then to Recruiting > Career page > Activations.
If you use your own application form, note that candidates still go to the Personio application form. Check the application form fields you’ve defined. Go to Settings, then to Recruiting > Career page > Default application form.
Can I edit an auto-posting?
To edit an auto-posting, follow the guidelines in our article on editing a posting on an external job board.
Can I cancel an auto-posting?
To cancel an auto-posting, you need to unpublish the job in Personio. Go to Recruiting > Jobs,
and click the job's title. Go to the three-dots icon at the top-right and select Unpublish.
Personio automatically removes the posting from all auto-posting job boards.
Can I promote remote jobs?
The location parameters of a job vary between different job boards. For remote jobs, mention in the job title that the job is remote (for example, Marketing Assistant – Remote). You also need to set up a remote office location and assign this office to your remote postings. Learn more about enabling remote and hybrid postings.
Tips:
▶︎ If you’re based outside of Germany, you can use the ZIP code 00000 for remote jobs.
▶︎ If you’re posting on LinkedIn, only real ZIP codes work. You can specify the workplace by adding the tag #LI-Remote, #LI-Hybrid, or #LI-Onsite to the job description. Visit this LinkedIn article for more information.
In which language will a job be posted on job boards?
You decide the language of auto-postings at the job level. Personio auto-posts the job in the default language that you've set in the job's Description tab.
Can I identify if a candidate comes from a sponsored post or an auto-posting?
- If a candidate applies via a sponsored post, Personio labels the channel as such (for example, LinkedIn – sponsored).
- If a candidate applies via auto-posting, Personio labels the channel as organic (for example, LinkedIn – organic).
Where can I find a link to my auto-posting to preview it?
Free job boards don’t provide links to organic (free) postings. To view a posting, search for it directly on the auto-posting job board.
Why does my posting appear twice?
This might happen if you activate auto-posting for a job board and also promote a posting on the same job board.
Example: You activate auto-posting for Indeed. You also promote a job on Indeed via the paid promotion feature. The job now appears twice on Indeed.
Can I post my job in different locations at the same time?
Yes, it's possible to post a job in different locations on some job boards. Every job board supports this feature differently. If your job has multiple locations, the main location appears by default. Additional locations follow, separated by commas. They must be less than 255 characters.
Can I turn off auto-posting?
Yes, you can turn off auto-posting. In Settings, go to Recruiting > Promotion. In the section Auto-posting, deselect all previously selected job boards. Apply your changes.
Personio automatically removes any published jobs from these job boards.
Why do I need to add a recruiter profile for LinkedIn postings?
If you want to use LinkedIn for auto-posting, you need to share your recruiter’s name and corporate email address. If you are the person who takes care of recruiting at your organization, then you can share your own details. You store this information under Settings > Recruiting > Promotion in the section LinkedIn recruiter profiles.
This is to comply with current LinkedIn policy and to ensure your jobs become visible. Without this, LinkedIn may remove auto-posted jobs. Having a recruiter profile helps ensure LinkedIn remains a phishing-free space for candidates. It also helps ensure only legitimate postings remain active on LinkedIn. The name and email address of the recruiter aren't visible on LinkedIn—it only uses the data to confirm the job’s authenticity. Learn more in this Microsoft article.
