In this article, you will find a checklist to ensure that your career page has been set up correctly, and that you understand the options to promote and publish positions.
Checklist: Required settings
Career page
- You have stored the company name so that it can be displayed correctly in the career page browser tab.
- To publish positions from Personio on your own career page, the XML interface must be enabled.
- You have inserted a link to the imprint, as a legal notice.
Note
This is not necessary if you are using your own corporate career page or if your company is located outside of Germany. - In the Translations section, all the relevant company information has been saved in all the languages you use.
- The data privacy statement contains detailed information about your company.
- The retention period for candidate data specified in your data privacy statement corresponds to the retention period you have defined under Settings > Recruiting > Recruiting > General > Data privacy settings (Anonymization after X days).

Email settings
- If you use your company's internal recruiting email address for your candidate communication, you have set up a redirection to the company's recruiting email address, and you have set up the connection to the company email provider either via direct integration or via SMTP.
If you have Productivity Plus
- You have activated the autoresponder for applications that were submitted via the application form and via email. This should be activated for each recruiting category.
- If your email templates contain gender variables (such as Dear ||Mr.|Ms.|| {{last_name}}), ensure the following and check that your emails display correctly:
▶︎ For applications via the application form: Gender should be a mandatory field in the application form.
▶︎ For email applications: Gender should be manually added to the candidate profile before the candidate is assigned to a position.
Positions
- Relevant information is entered for published positions.
- If you want a position to be published in another language, you have provided all translations for the position as well as the general Job description under Settings > Recruiting > Recruiting > Job description.

- Check if all Test positions are deleted. If you want to keep them, check that placeholders like “Lorem ipsum” are no longer present in the position's description.
Checklist: Optional settings
Career page
- For postings to appear in the Google Jobs search, the setting Enable Google Jobs must be activated.
- You have configured an application form.
- Your logo, header background, font, and colors have been saved so that you can set up your Personio career page in accordance with your corporate design.
- You have customized your Personio career page using CSS.
Email settings
- If you selected specific employees as the senders of the receipt confirmation email, a signature has been saved in their profile.
Tip
We recommend saving a signature in the profile of all employees who are involved in candidate communication. - You have created custom email templates for the application process.
