This article explains how to reset or change another employee's password. Learn how to reset your own password.
There are two ways to change another employee's password:
- Send a password reset email.
- Change the password from within an employee's profile.
Note:
If you use single sign-on (SSO) to log in, you don't have a Personio password. You log in through your SSO provider. This article only applies to users who log in with an email and password.
Before you start
- To send a password reset email for another employee, you need Edit permissions for Manage accounts.
- To change the password from within an employee's profile, you need Edit permissions for Reset password.
- After a password reset or change, the user receives a confirmation email about the change. The system also logs the user out of all active sessions, and they must log in again with their new password.
Send a password reset email
To send a password reset email for another employee:
- Go to the employee’s profile.
- Click the three-dot icon in the top right.
- Select Manage account.
- Select Send password reset email.
Change a password in an employee's profile
To change an employee’s password in their profile:
- Go to the employee’s profile.
- Click the three-dot icon in the top right.
- Select Manage account.
- Click Set new password.
- Enter a password (see the password requirements).
- Submit the changes.
The employee can now log in with the new password.
