This article explains how to reset your Personio account password. It also explains password requirements. Learn how to reset another employee's password.
Note:
If you use single sign-on (SSO) to log in, you don't have a Personio password. You log in through your SSO provider. This article only applies to users who log in with email and password.
Before you start
After you reset your password:
- You will get an email informing you that your password has been changed.
- You will be logged out of all active sessions and will need to log in again using your new password.
Understand password requirements
Your password needs to meet these requirements:
- Contain 10 to 128 characters.
- Include at least one letter, one number, and one special character.
- Not include your name.
- Be different from your last 12 passwords.
Reset your password
You can reset your password in two ways:
From the login screen
To reset your Personio password from the login screen:
- Go to www.personio.com/login/.
- Enter your company’s hostname and click Continue.
- Enter your email address and click Continue.
- Click Forgot password?
- Check your email address is correct and click Continue.
- Check your email for a password reset email. Use the link in the email to reset your password.
- If you don't receive the password reset email, click Resend email. You can also follow these troubleshooting steps.
From your account
To reset your password from within your Personio account:
- Go to your employee profile by clicking your name at the bottom of the main Personio menu.
- In the top-right corner, click the three-dots icon.
- Click Manage account.
- Send a password reset email to yourself.
- Check your email and use the link to reset your password.
Follow password best practices
Keep the following recommendations in mind:
- Use a password manager to store passwords in an encrypted format.
- Avoid entering passwords using copy and paste.
