This article explains how to manage goals and subgoals.
Access goals
The Goals section in the Performance & Development area is the central place where you can view, create, and edit goals. In this section:
- All employees can access their goals.
- Supervisors can access goals created for their reports.
- Administrators and employees with edit rights for this section can access goals created for everyone in the organization.
For more information on what goals you can view and edit depending on your role and access rights, see View and edit access in the Performance & Development area.
Add a comment in a goal

To add a comment on a goal, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Performance & Development > Goals.
- Select the relevant employee.
- Click the arrow icon
next to the relevant goal.
- The goal's details page opens. Under Comments, click Write your comment... and input your text.
- Click Submit.
Comments are ordered chronologically. Your new comment appears at the top of the list.
Tip You can edit your comments at any time. Click the three dots icon next to the comment you want to modify and select Edit.
Delete a comment in a goal
If necessary, you can delete your own comments:
- Navigate to Performance & Development > Goals.
- Select the relevant employee.

To update the progress of a goal, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Performance & Development > Goals.
- Select the relevant employee.
- On the relevant goal, click Update progress.
- A new window appears showing an overview of the goal and its subgoals. To update the goal's status, click the status button below the goal's title and choose the appropriate option from the list (Not started, On track, Off track, Completed, Cancelled, Deferred).
- To update the progress for each subgoal, input a new value under Achieved.
- Click Save.
The subgoals values and progress are updated, together with the overall progress of the goal.
