This article contains tips to ensure that you've set up your time off and accrual policies correctly.
Required settings
- You've enabled the setting Can substitutes request this time off? for time off types such as sickness, sick child or remote work. This way, if an employee is substituting for a colleague and gets sick, they can request a time off.
- You've enabled the setting Consider time tracked during time off of this type as overtime? for all standard time off, during which employees are not expected to work.
- The time off type setting Valid on matches the working days of the work schedules.
- You've created accrual policies for all the time off types that require it. For example: paid vacation.
- You've assigned accrual policies for these time off to all your internal employees from hire date.
- You've deleted accrual policies that are not in use.
- You've adjusted the vacation balance for all employees, to display the carryover from the previous year correctly.
- You've set up the Time off Calendar with the relevant time off types.
Optional settings
- You've added all payroll-relevant time off types under Settings > Payroll > Salary & Payroll, in the Time off types in time off tab section.
- You've enabled the Half-day requests setting for daily time off types that can be requested as half days.
- You've imported past and planned time off into Personio.
