Personio uses AI to help you and your team work more efficiently. This article gives you an overview of every AI-powered product feature in Personio. For each feature, you can see what it does, what data it uses, and how to control access. It doesn't cover Support AI, which is Personio's customer support tool rather than a product feature. The following table shows the AI-powered features available across Personio's product areas. Certain AI features consume AI credits on a usage basis. Learn more about how AI credits work.

How to manage AI features
You manage AI features in Personio Settings. Turning on General access makes AI available across your organization. Most AI features need this to work. Support AI is always available the AI features toggle doesn't affect it.
To manage AI features:
- Go to Settings.
- In the Account & support section, click AI features.
- Turn on General access to make AI available across your organization.
- Turn on or off individual features as needed.

Note:
You turn on AI-assisted employee data import on or off within the employee import flow, but you need to turn on General access in the AI features page first.
Data protection and privacy
Personio builds all AI features with data privacy and security in mind. For technical detail on security certifications, subprocessors, and compliance, visit the Personio Trust Center. The following principles apply across all Personio AI features.
- No training on your data: Personio doesn't use your data to train AI models. Personio doesn't share input or output data with any third party except AWS Bedrock for processing purposes.
- EU processing: all AI processing takes place on Personio's own AWS servers in the EU using AWS Bedrock. Data is stored in Frankfurt and does not leave the EU.
- Customer isolation: each customer is fully isolated. Personio AI never accesses data from other customers or mixes information between tenants.
- Access controls: all AI features enforce authorization as configured in Personio. AI-generated content is only ever visible to people who already have the relevant access rights.
- Data ownership: the customer owns all output data generated by Personio AI features.
- Responsible AI: Personio designs AI features to produce fair and unbiased results.
