In this article, we will show you how to include kununu reviews in your recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes. You will also learn how to integrate the kununu widget into your Personio career page.
You can use the best practices from this article to redirect your employees and candidates to kununu depending on where they are at in their journey in your company.
What is kununu?
kununu is the leading employer review platform in the German-speaking region. Employees can review their employers, their salaries, and the corporate culture. Additionally, kununu users can ask questions about a company and candidates can rate their application process. Companies can also post about their culture and company updates, and give further insights.
kununu provides a unique link per company, so employers can request a review from their candidates and current and former employees.
Find your kununu review link
To find your company’s link, follow these steps:
- Go to your kununu company page.
-
Click on ARBEITGEBER BEWERTEN. You will be directed to your company's review form.
- Copy the URL. Your company UUID is included at the end of the link.
Personalize your review links
There are four different forms, depending on who you want a review from and which questions you want to include.
You can customize your URL to match your desired form:
Current job including culture and salary questions |
https://www.kununu.com/de/insights?forms=bewerten,gehalt,kultur&profile=[UUID of your company]
|
Former job |
https://www.kununu.com/de/insights?formValues[type]=former&profile=[UUID of your company]
|
Review the hiring process |
https://www.kununu.com/de/insights?formValues[type]=application&profile=&[UUID of your company]
|
Tip
You can find your company UUID by replicating steps 1 to 3 above. The UUID is the code at the end of your company's review form.
You must add tracking parameters to your URL. This allows you to track if the review form has been accessed via a link provided through Personio. To do so, add the following tracking parameters at the end of the link:
Reviews from employees |
&utm_source=personio&utm_medium=ats_personio_employees&rfr=ats_personio
|
Reviews from candidates |
&utm_source=personio&utm_medium=ats_personio_applicants&rfr=ats_personio
|
Tip
This is an example of a link for a hiring process review, combined with the tracking link for a form accessed through Personio: https://www.kununu.com/de/insights?formValues[type]=application&profile=81045cea-6377-46cf-9ea7-cd37dce15e2b&utm_source=personio&utm_medium=ats_personio_applicants&rfr=ats_personio
Note
You must exchange "de" with "at" or "ch" in your URL to identify your company correctly.
Add kununu reviews to your workflows
In your recruiting emails
During your recruiting process, you can ask candidates to fill in the kununu review link and share their experience. You can send this link while rejecting candidates (whether they withdraw their application or are not a good fit) or, alternatively, while sending them an offer.
You can include the link in your email templates by going to Settings > Recruiting > Email Templates. You can create a new email:
-
Type your email's name and click on the
button.
- Click on Edit, next to your email template's name.
- Enter your email subject and your email message.
- Add the link from kununu in the email template section.
You can learn more about recruiting email templates in Personio in our article Create Email Templates.
In your onboarding and offboarding steps
It is also possible to request a review from your current employees. During their onboarding, you can create an email step to invite them to fill in the kununu review form. You can also request a review during the offboarding process when an employee leaves the company.
You can include the link in one of your emails by going to Settings > Workflows > On-/Offboarding.
In Onboarding Steps or Offboarding Steps, you can create a new email step:
- Type in your email's name and click on the “Type” drop-down menu to select the Email Action option.
- Click on the
button.
- Fill in the information for your email and add the link from kununu in the email template section. You can read our article about Creating On- and Offboarding Workflows for more information on this topic.
In your onboarding template, you can add a step either when they start their new role (for example, two weeks after their start date) or later during their first year within the company. You will need to select a certain number of days after their start date (for example, 365 days).
For more information on how to request a review from your employees, you can attend the kununu Masterclasses format.
In your dashboard
You have the possibility to customize your Personio dashboard by adding the kununu link as a shortcut. This way, your employees can access your kununu review form anytime.
Follow these steps to add the link to your dashboard:
- In Personio, go to Settings > Organization > Dashboard.
- Click on Add Shortcut.
- Chose an icon, name your company shortcut, and add the URL to your kununu review link.
- Click on Add.
- Your shortcut will be available on the employee's homepage, under Company Shortcuts.
Read our article to learn more about configuring company shortcuts for the dashboard.
Add the kununu widget to your career page
You can also add the kununu widget to your Personio career page. The widget will be located in the About us section, which is displayed in every job description.
Important: Stepstone does not allow links in its postings. If you plan to post your jobs on Stepstone, we do not recommend adding the kununu widget to your Personio career page.
Follow these steps to add the widget to your Personio career page:
- To find your widget, follow the instructions on kununu.
- Copy your code from kununu.
- In Personio, go to Settings > Recruiting > Recruiting > Career Page.
- Then, scroll down to the section About us.
-
Click on the button More Text
and select the option Code View
.
- Paste the code you copied from kununu and click on Apply Changes.
