This article explains how to troubleshoot issues where a job promoted with Personio (for example, with auto-posting or multiposting) isn't visible on an external job board.
This article covers the following issues:
- My job isn't showing on the job board yet
- I'm not sure if the job is missing—I need to double-check
- I'm not sure whether I used auto-posting or multiposting
- My job isn't visible on LinkedIn (auto-posting)
- The job still isn't visible after a few days
Before you start
- To promote jobs, you need edit permissions for the Recruiting app.
- You cannot promote jobs externally if you’re using a trial account. You can only promote jobs externally once you have the Recruiting app as part of a paid subscription.
- When you book external job boards, you settle posting costs through Personio. Store your payment information in Settings > Account > Subscription and Billing. You can also find your invoices there. If you already have contracts with external job boards, you can store these as frame contracts in Personio. Make sure you arrange billing directly with the job board and finalize the contracts.
- Before posting a job, make sure you've reviewed the requirements for posting on job boards.
My job isn't showing on the job board yet
Possible solution: job board delays are normal. How long a job takes to appear depends on your situation:
- If this is your first promoted job with Personio, it can take up to one week to appear on some job boards (for example, Indeed).
- If you've promoted jobs before, many job boards show the job within 48 hours, but it can take up to 3 working days.
During this time, some job boards review postings to make sure they match their internal policies.
Make sure your Personio plan is active and your account isn’t still in trial mode.
I'm not sure if the job is missing—I need to double-check
Possible solution: the job may already be live but difficult to find.
- Check your company page on the job board (if available).
- Search online using your company name and the job board name (for example, "Company XY StepStone")
- Search on the job board using your company name, the job title, and the location.
I'm not sure whether I used auto-posting or multiposting
Possible solution: check the job's promotion method in Personio, as troubleshooting differs by method:
- Go to Recruiting > Jobs.
- Open the relevant job.
- Open the Promotion tab.
- Check if the job uses auto-posting or multiposting (some jobs can use both).
My job isn't visible on LinkedIn (auto-posting)
Possible solution: your LinkedIn Company ID may be incorrect.
If auto-posting is connected to the wrong LinkedIn Company ID, your job might be posted to the wrong company profile.
- Go to Settings > Recruiting.
- Go to Promotion.
- Check the LinkedIn Company ID.
- Use the link to your company profile (if shown) to confirm it matches the correct LinkedIn page.
The job still isn't visible after a few days
Possible solution: the job board might have additional posting rules.
Some job boards have policies that affect whether a job is displayed or how quickly it appears. For example, LinkedIn includes restrictions that might affect certain posting sources. See LinkedIn Service Terms for more information.
Indeed checks every posting for quality requirements. Review these requirements and make sure to meet them for Indeed to publish your posting.
