If you already have contracts in place with external job boards, you can store them in Personio. These are known as frame contracts. Personio doesn’t charge you—the payment takes place between you and the job board. This article explains how to store a frame contract in Personio.
Before you start
- Only Account Owners and Contract Owners can add a frame contract to your account. Ask your Account or Contract Owner to follow the steps outlined in this article.
- To promote jobs using a frame contract, you need to have either:
▶︎ Edit permissions for the Recruiting app, or
▶︎ A specific Recruiting role with edit rights for the Jobs section.
Send Personio the frame contract information
Our Support Team at Personio needs to manually set up each frame contract. We arrange this with our job posting partner, GoHiring.
Fill out this form with the information shown below. This information allows us to process your request more efficiently.

Select from the drop-down menu. If you can’t find your job board in the list, select My job board is not listed/other. ▶︎ If Personio supports the job board, but we haven’t listed it yet, we can set it up manually for you. This allows you to promote jobs on the respective board using your related frame contract. ▶︎ If Personio doesn’t support a specific job board and you want to add it, we’ll evaluate your request. We’ll get back to you regarding next steps. |
Confirm the status of the frame contract
Once you send us the frame contract information above, we check and validate it with the external job board. This usually takes 3–4 days.
Once this process is complete, the contract data is stored in your Personio account. Our Support Team sends you a notification to let you know.
Check the status in Personio
To check the status of frame contracts you’ve submitted to Personio, follow these steps:
- Go to Recruiting > Jobs and click on the title of the relevant job.
- Go to the Promotion tab.
- Under My frame contracts, you can find an overview of the frame contracts you’ve submitted. Each frame contract has its own individual box containing all relevant information. The status can be one of the following:
▶︎ Active: You can start booking postings with your frame contract.
▶︎ Pending approval: Our Service Team is currently checking it.
▶︎ Expired: The frame contract is expired. You can renew it with the respective job board.
Example:
Status: Pending approval
Job board and posting product: Indeed
Duration of posting: 30 days
Number of remaining postings out of total postings: 5 posts out of 10 left
Promote a job using a frame contract
You can use your active frame contracts to promote jobs on external job boards. You do this through our multiposting feature. Follow these steps:
- Go to Recruiting > Jobs and click the title of the relevant job.
- Go to the Promotion tab and click Promote.
- Under My frame contracts, select the frame contract you want to use.
- Click Promote and preview your posting.
- Review the booking details. The price should be zero, as the payment takes place between you and the job board. The cost details should also include how much of your package is remaining.
- Place your order.
Note the following:
- If you’re currently promoting a job using a frame contract, the frame contract appears grayed-out in the job’s Promotion tab.
- When you post a job via a frame contract for the first time, it takes around seven days for the posting to appear online.
- To delete an expired frame contract or ask about an expiration date, Account Owners or Contract Owners need to contact Support.
Access metrics on channel performance
