This article provides a summary of recruiting role permissions. This information helps you understand the different permissions that you can grant via recruiting roles.
For each recruiting role you create, you can define which Recruiting sections are accessible to that role. Depending on an employee’s involvement in the recruiting process, you might only grant access to jobs or applications or messages, etc. You can refer to the relevant section of this article for more detail.
You can grant your employees either viewing or editing rights for the various sections. There are no proposal rights for recruiting roles. The hierarchy of permissions is structured from left to right. This means that editing rights automatically comprise viewing rights. We’ll compare viewing and editing rights for each section.
Relationship to other permissions in Recruiting
Recruiting roles are different from other permissions in Recruiting. For a more comprehensive overview of permissions in the Recruiting app, read our dedicated summary article.
Employees with full permissions to Recruiting can also be assigned a recruiting role. This allows them to receive certain notifications.
Recruiting role examples
Below are some examples of recruiting roles and their permissions. The benefit of recruiting roles is that you can customize them for each use case. You can assign recruiting roles for an entire job or for individual candidate profiles. This selection affects the scope of the permissions.
If you’re an Administrator, you can test the permissions of different recruiting roles. Go to the respective employee profile and log in as the employee.
Example 1:
You create a recruiting role called “Hiring Manager”. This role is for employees involved in the recruiting process for a specific job. For example, a Team Lead who’s involved in defining the job description, organizing interviews, and selecting the candidate. For this recruiting role, you might grant edit access to all sections.
Example 2:
You create a recruiting role called “Interviewer”. This role is for employees who support the recruiting process with a specific task. For example, a team member who’s invited to the interview to assess if the candidate is a culture fit. In this case, you might only grant editing access to Comments and viewing access to Interviews. You can then grant the interviewer access to a specific application in the Access tab of a candidate’s profile.
