This article explains how to create an external recruiting channel. Personio automatically tracks candidates generated via the promotion feature, the Personio career page, and the employee referrals feature. You only need to create an external recruiting channel if you:
- Promote jobs on external job boards without using our promotion feature. If you plan to use tracking links, then you need to create a recruiting channel as part of this process.
- Promote jobs through non-digital sources, such as job fairs or print newspapers. In this case, you can create a recruiting channel and record it manually in the relevant candidate profiles.
- Work with external recruiters and want to make sure this work is recorded in Personio.
With recruiting channels, you can:
- Understand which sources candidates are coming from.
- Measure the performance of each channel. You can access performance data in the Metrics tab and also in the job-specific metrics.
Before you start
To create an external recruiting channel, you need permissions for your company’s Recruiting settings.
Create a new recruiting channel
To create a new recruiting channel, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Recruiting > Channels. If you use our promotion feature, any selected job boards also appear here. For example, if you promote a job on Indeed, it automatically appears in this area as a channel.
- Click Add a new channel.
- Give the channel a name, for example, LinkedIn, Stepstone, External Recruiter, etc.
- Select the pricing type. Depending on your selection, enter a cost and a currency.
- [Optional] Add notes.
- Save and close.
Personio automatically assigns the new channel a unique channel ID.
Delete an external recruiting channel
Note:
If you delete a recruiting channel, Personio deletes all tracking links for the channel. As a result, you’ll no longer be able to track the channel’s performance.
To delete an external recruiting channel, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Recruiting > Channels.
- Select the relevant recruiting channel.
- Click the trash icon.
