This article explains how to give your employees permissions to access the Analytics area and create reports.
Before you start
Permissions: Anyone with an Administrator role can create reports. You also need to be an Administrator to allow employees to create reports.
Allow employees to create reports
You can allow other employees to create reports via an employee role. Learn about the permissions needed to create reports. An important part of this process is granting the role access to the relevant employee attribute data.
Once you've granted them the necessary permissions, the employee now can:
- Access the Reports tab in the Analytics area.
- Access the Metrics tab in the Analytics area.
- View all the reports they have created and those shared with them in the Reports tab.
- Create a new report.
Allow employees to create legacy custom reports
- Go to Settings.
- In the People section, click Roles & permissions.
- Select the role that the employee is a member of (besides the All employees role). Alternatively, create a new employee role specifically for that employee.
- Click on the employee role's Permissions tab.
- In People data > Custom reports, select Edit: All.
- Review the changes and save the edits.
The employee now can:
- Access the Reports tab in the Analytics area.
- View all existing custom reports in the Reports tab.
- Create a new legacy custom report.
