This article explores common issues that arise when supervisors change during an ongoing cycle. This might happen because of permission issues or problems with approving company structure changes within a cycle.
If you are reading this, you have already set up and launched a performance review cycle including manager reviews.
Before you start
To troubleshoot manager review issues, you need Administrator permissions or edit permissions for cycles and reviews.
When you add a manager review to a cycle, Personio automatically notifies the participants' supervisors and assigns them manager reviews to complete.
If cycle participants change supervisor while the cycle is ongoing, you need to confirm the change in the cycle. This makes sure that the new supervisor can write manager reviews for their direct reports in the cycle.
Ensure you confirm the change in supervisor in the affected cycle
To confirm the new supervisor in a cycle, follow these steps:
- Go to Performance > Review Cycles.
- Click the relevant cycle.
- In the cycle details view, click Edit > Participants > Review changes.
- Under Changes in employee's supervisors, confirm the change.
After you confirm the change, the new supervisor gets access to the cycle, and Personio discards the old supervisor's draft and submitted manager reviews.
Access discarded reviews
You cannot reactivate or restore discarded reviews, but the previous supervisor can access them under Performance (read-only) and copy the text to share with the new supervisor. Learn more about what happens when you change a supervisor during a cycle.
