The Positions tab feeds its data directly into the Insights tab, driving widgets that highlight key details like positions and their associated FTEs. Split into two sections, this tab provides a clear and focused view of workforce planning data through dynamic visualizations.
Note:
Only customers with access to the Positions tab can see the Insights tab. The Positions tab is one of the three main features in Personio's Workforce Planning journey, and it requires the subscription to Personio Core Pro.
Give employees access to widgets
For your employees to see the Insights tab, you need to grant them edit permissions to Permissions > Configurations > Planning > Position list.
However, granting them access to the tab is not enough. You also need to grant access to the relevant employee attribute data:
| Widget | Section where these attributes were placed (Personal data) |
| All positions | Position |
| Position by status | |
| Positions by month |
Distribution widgets
These widgets help you understand the distribution of open and filled positions and FTEs (full-time equivalent) across your organisation, offering a clear and concise view of your workforce structure.
It answers questions such as:
- How many positions and FTEs does my organisation have in total?
- How many positions are filled and how many are open?
- What is the distribution of open and filled positions and FTEs by department or team?
These widgets use various attributes to segment data, making it easy to find the most relevant information. By default, the Department attribute segments the data. However, you can customize this to view data by other attributes, such as team.
The current Distribution widgets are:
-
All positions/FTE
Shows the distribution of all positions across departments, segmented by category. Each block represents a department, with its size and colour indicating the number of positions.
-
Positions/FTE by status
Shows the distribution of open positions (dark bars) and filled positions (light bars) across departments. Each bar represents a department.
Targets to actuals widgets
This section includes widgets that track progress against hiring plans. They compare the planned start dates with the actual start dates of positions and employees, highlighting what was scheduled, what actually happened, and any differences between the two.
It answers questions such as:
- How do my current open and filled positions compare to my targets? What about FTEs?
- Which specific positions are responsible for the gaps between targets and actuals?
The current Targets to actuals widgets are:
-
Positions/FTE by month
Shows the distribution of actual filled positions (dark bars) and targeted open and filled positions (light bars) over time. Each segment represents a month.
