This article explains how to add and edit courses in Personio, and how to schedule different training sessions that are part of a course. Adding courses and sessions in Personio will allow you to invite participants and track training attendances directly in Personio.

These functionalities are only available to Administrators and employees with edit rights to the training section of the Performance & Development area.
Catalog courses
Catalog courses are created and delivered via the Personio catalog. They are organized in training sessions.
Add a course
To add a course, follow these steps:
- Go to Training.
- Under Course catalog, click Add new course.
- Enter a unique name for the course into the field Name, and enter a unique course description into the Description field.
- Under Course source, select Personio's catalog.
- Click Add course.
- The newly added course appears under the Course catalog tab.

Edit course details
To make adjustments to a course, follow these steps:
- Go to Training.
- Under Course catalog, on the course which you wish to edit, click the three dots icon. Click Edit course.
- Edit the course name and the description.
- Click Save changes.
Add a training session to a course
You can add multiple training sessions to a course.
To add a training session to a course, follow these steps:
- Go to Training.
- Under Course catalog, click Add session to the right of the relevant course.
- Enter a name and a description for the session. Click Next.
- Enter dates and times for the start and the end of the session. Select how the session will be delivered (virtually, in person or hybrid). Include the meeting link if necessary.
- Optional: specify the location depending on how the session will be delivered. Click Next.

Choose whether the session has limited seats or not, and set the number of available seats.
- Click Save session details.
You can then add employees to the training session and send them invites, or open the training session to self enrollment.
Edit training session details
To make adjustments to a training session, follow these steps:
- Go to Training.
- Under Course catalog, click the title of the course containing the session you want to edit, then click the arrow button to the right of the session.
- The session page opens, displaying the training session details. In the top-right corner, click the three dots icon. Click Edit session.
- Edit the name, date, time, location and capacity of the training session.

External courses
External courses are past courses that need to be recorded in the employee record.
Add an external course to the catalog
To create an external course for one or more employees and add it to the catalog, follow these steps:
- Go to Training.
- Under Course catalog, click Add new course.
- Enter a unique name for the course into the field Name, and enter a unique course description into the Description field.
- Under Course source, select External.
- Click Add course.
- The course details page appears. You can now start tracking the course participation by adding employees to the course.
Edit an external course details
To make adjustments to an external course, follow these steps:
- Go to Training.
- Under Course catalog, on the external course which you wish to edit, click the three dots icon. Click Edit course.
- Edit the course name and the description.
- Click Save changes.
