This article explains how to download all your documents from Personio at once. Learn how to download individual documents.
Before you start
- You must have an Active status in Personio to export your own documents. If you don't have an Active status, contact an Administrator or Account Owner in your organization who can access your documents via company export.
- The bulk document export is only available for downloading your own documents. This means admins and supervisors can export their own documents, but they cannot export documents on behalf of other employees. Administrators who need to bulk download documents for employees can use the Personio public API as an alternative.
Understand what's included in the export
The bulk export includes all documents uploaded to your employee profile, such as contracts, certificates, performance reviews, and personal documents you've uploaded. The bulk document export does not include DATEV documents from your profile.
Export your documents
To generate the bulk document export:
- Go to your employee profile.
- Click the Documents tab.
- To the right of the search icon, click the Export all documents icon.
- Select Create an export file.
You receive an email from Personio when the export is ready. This may take up to 15 minutes, depending on the size of your files.
Download your exported documents
When you receive the email notification, click the download link in the email to access your zip file in Personio. The download is available for six days from the date of the export. After that, Personio deletes the file. You need to generate it again if needed.
