This article explains how to create application tags in the Recruiting app. We'll also cover how to manage them in the Recruiting settings and filter by them in the Application List.
Application tags are labels you can attach to candidate applications. They help you identify and organize your applications easily. You can use keywords or short phrases when naming tags, for example, "High potential" or "Former intern."
When you add a tag to an application, it appears under the header of the candidate profile. You can also view the tag in the Application List if you have the Tags column selected.
Before you start
- To create application tags in the settings, you need permissions for your company's Recruiting settings.
- Other employees can create tags if they have a recruiting role with permissions for Tags. They can only create tags from within the candidate profile.
Create an application tag
You can create application tags in two ways: from within a candidate profile or from Settings. Any tag you create is stored globally, so you can reuse it across all candidate profiles.
Add a tag to a candidate profile
- Go to Recruiting > Applications.
- Click the candidate's name. This opens their profile in a side drawer.
- Click Add tag in the profile header.
- Select an existing tag from the dropdown, or type a name to create a new one.
Tip:
To remove a tag from a candidate profile, click the x in the tag button.
Add a tag from the settings
You can add new application tags via Settings > Recruiting > Tags. You can also manage existing tags from this area.
The following table lists the tasks you can perform.
| Task | Details |
|---|---|
| View all existing tags | You can view a list of all your existing application tags in the left sidebar. |
| Add a new tag |
Click Add a new tag at the top of the left sidebar. Enter a name, for example, "High potential", and choose a tag color. If you enter a name that already exists, a warning appears and the tag isn't created |
| Edit a tag | Click the tag in the left sidebar. You can change the name and color. |
| Delete a tag | Click the tag in the left sidebar, then click the bin icon. When you delete a tag, it's also removed from all candidate applications where it was in use. |
Filter by tags
The filter functionality in the Application List helps you identify a selection of candidates. For example, if you filter by a tag named "High potential," you can see all applications with that tag.
- Go to Recruiting > Applications.
- Click Filter and select Tags.
- Define your rule set. You can add multiple rules to narrow down the results.
You now have an overview of all tagged candidates.
