Your Timesheet in Personio gives you a clear overview of your attendance, tracked hours, time off, and overtime.
This article explains how to check your attendance summary, export your timesheet, review your time entry activity log, and edit or delete your time entries. Use these steps to easily manage and keep track of your working hours.
Before you start
- To delete a time entry, you need edit permissions to your own Attendance data.
Review your attendance data
To review your attendance data, click Time Off & Attendance > Attendance. At the top of the timesheet, you can see an overview of your attendance:

| Tracked / target hours | All the hours you’ve tracked, including ones pending approval, against the number of hours you’re expected to work. This is based on your work schedule and includes both public holidays and any already approved standard time off, during which you're not expected to work. |
| Time off | Approved daily and hourly standard time off (excluding long-term). |
| Overtime/deficit |
Approved overtime. If your company has set up a monthly cliff or deficit hours, they will be deducted from this number. Click the widget title to access your total overtime balance and history. |
If you track overnight hours (that cross midnight), Personio applies a certain logic to time entries. Learn more about tracking overnight hours.
To export the timesheet, click the gear icon on the top right and select the relevant option. This PDF file includes:
- A monthly or weekly overview, depending on the view you're on.
- Your company information and your employee ID, if set up.
- A detailed daily breakdown of tracked working hours, break times, and comments.
- Project names and hours.
- The attendance approver and the approval date.
You can also access a CSV export that includes all data related to overnight periods.
Review a time entry activity log
If you have the permission needed to view time entries, you can also check their activity log. The log is available for any time entry logged after January 8, 2025. Follow these steps:
- In the sidebar, click Time Off & Attendance > Attendance.
- On the right of the relevant time entry, click the three dots > View activity.
- The list contains every activity for the time entry, listed by date. It may take a few hours for a new activity to appear in the log.
- If an attendance approval workflow is active and a time entry is auto-approved, the name of your organization appears as the performer of the action.
- Click an entry to see what changes were made. Changes from the previous version of the time entry are in bold.
Edit or delete a time entry
Keep in mind:
- Depending on your company's settings, you might not be able to take some of these actions.
- If you edit any time entry while you’re clocked in, the system automatically stops your current clock-in.
To edit or delete your time entries, follow these steps:
- In the sidebar, click Time Off & Attendance > Attendance.
- For each day you tracked time on, you see a summary of your working hours and the status of your attendance request. You might also see other notes, depending on your company's time tracking policies.
- To edit a time entry, click a day and enter your changes, then save the edits.
- To delete a time entry, select the checkbox next to the day or days you want to delete.
- At the bottom of the screen, click the bin icon.
- Confirm the deletion.
