This article gives an overview of trial accounts for new customers and app trials for existing customers. It covers what's included in each trial, any feature limitations, and what happens when the trial ends.
Trial account (for new customers)
A trial account gives new customers 14 days of free access to Personio. Your account includes demo employees and sample data to help you see what Personio looks like in use. You can add your own data, upload your company logo, and adjust settings at any time. If you subscribe to a plan, all the data and changes you made during the trial transfer to your account.
You can add colleagues to the trial by adding them as employees and sending them an invitation.
Duration and expiry
- Your trial account runs for 14 days. The banner at the top of your account shows how many days remain.
- Your trial account ends after 14 days — you don't need to cancel. Once it ends, you lose access and cannot log in. Personio deletes trial account data 30 days after your trial ends.
- Your trial account ends with no charge. You only pay if you choose to subscribe to a plan.
- To extend your trial, contact our sales team.
Subscribing to a plan
- To subscribe to a plan during or after your trial, contact our sales team. You can also learn more about our plans.
Trial account features and restrictions
Trial accounts have the following features and restrictions:
- Recruiting: outbound candidate emails and job postings to external job boards are blocked.
- Surveys: maximum of 50 participants.
- Electronic signatures: maximum of three electronic signature requests.
- Document storage: maximum of 5MB per employee.
- Personio Payroll and DATEV: contact our sales team for more information and to add them to your trial.
- Marketplace and API integrations: available with no restrictions.
Support during a trial account
Go to Support in the main Personio menu to use Support AI and get instant answers to your questions. You cannot contact our Support team during a trial account. To contact a member of our sales team, use the Contact sales link in the account banner or submit a form.
App trials (for existing customers)
Existing Personio customers can trial additional apps before purchasing. To request an app trial, Account Owners, Contract Owners, and Payroll Owners can contact us through Support. Your account manager can confirm the trial duration when you request one.
Recruiting
- Outbound candidate emails and job postings to external job boards are blocked.
- Inbox and email notification workflows stop as soon as the trial ends.
Note:
Demo data stays in your account when the trial ends. If you purchase Recruiting, you need to remove the pre-filled demo data. Any personal data you add during the trial also stays in your account — remove it before the trial ends if needed.
Surveys
- Surveys have a maximum of 50 participants during an app trial. Trial data stays in your account when the trial ends.
