Manage sharing and confidentiality settings for performance reviews and continuous feedback.
Before you start
Only Administrators and employees with edit rights for Performance settings can set feedback confidentiality.
Any change in the confidentiality settings does not apply to previously drafted or sent feedback.
Set continuous feedback confidentiality
You can decide whether the name of the feedback provider is visible to the person receiving the feedback, or you can let the feedback provider decide.
- Go to Performance > Manage. Click Confidentiality.
- Click the button next to Name visibility on continuous feedback. Choose one of these options:
▶︎ Always shown: The name of the feedback provider is always visible to the feedback receiver.
▶︎ Always confidential: The name of the feedback provider is never visible to the feedback receiver.
▶︎ Optional to provider: The feedback provider can choose whether to make their name visible to the receiver of the feedback. - Save your changes.
The confidentiality option also applies to feedback exports, notifications, and emails. If for example you have chosen to never show the name of the feedback provider, the name will not be visible in any feedback notification, email, or in the company export.
Note that this does not apply to requested feedback. If you request feedback from a person, their name is then visible under their feedback for you.
Set hierarchical access for reviews, feedback and performance notes
You can decide if continuous feedback and reviews are visible only to immediate supervisors or to the whole reporting line (the supervisor's supervisor and any subsequent supervisors). To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to Performance > Manage. Click Confidentiality.
- Under Hierarchical access for reviews and feedback, choose whether only the immediate supervisors or the whole reporting line should have access. This applies to reviews, feedback and performance notes.
- Save your changes.
