This article explains how to read and use the Worksheet and People list in a Compensation cycle.
Worksheet
The Compensation Worksheet is where supervisors can see the salary information of the Compensation Cycle participants, and propose or approve salary changes.
To access your own Worksheet, follow these steps:
- Go to Compensation > Review.
To review the Worksheet of your direct report, follow these steps:
- Go to Compensations > Manage cycle.
- Click Worksheet next to the relevant supervisor.
Features of the Worksheet
The following options are available to customize the Worksheet:
- Columns: Customize your view by adding or hiding columns. You can also rearrange them using the drag-and-drop feature to suit your needs.
- Sort: Sort the People list based on various criteria, such as employee, department, team and more to customize the list according to your preferences.
- Filters: Apply filters to the worksheet to easily locate the information you require. This helps in narrowing down data based on specific criteria.
- Search Bar: Quickly find specific employees by searching for their names through the magnifying glass icon. This feature allows you to view individual salary information efficiently.
- Monthly/Yearly Values: Use the three-dot menu on the right side to toggle between viewing yearly or monthly salary values, providing flexibility in analysing compensation data.
- Edit data: Update employee details by simply clicking on the respective employee row. This way, you can access the editing drawer to add notes and make all necessary changes with ease.
Worksheet overview
The following table offers an overview of the data in the sheet:

Budget impact |
Employee's salary increase (absolute amount) displayed in the currency used for the cycle budget. |
Used if the employee's salary currency is different from the budget currency to clarify the impact of the increase on the available budget. |
Effective salary |
Employee's effective salary (absolute amount). |
Shows the effective salary based on the employee's FTE value. |
One-time compensation | One-time compensation component for the employee to receive as part of the cycle. | |

The latest salary changes for the employee. |

Performance rating |
The employee's performance rating. |

Percentage of time an employee works based on their weekly hours. |

Salary band |
Pay range established for the job. |
See the current and new positions in the band. Set up salary bands when creating your company job architecture. |
Band penetration |
Progression of the salary in the band, in percentage (0% being the bottom, and 100% the top of the band). |
Hover over the salary band to see the current and new band penetration. It helps to track salary progression within a pay band, guiding decisions about raises and promotions. |
Level |
The job level within the job family (for example, "Junior", "L1"). |
Set up job levels when creating your company job architecture. |
Compa-ratio |
Comparison of the employee's salary in relation to the midpoint of the respective salary band. |
See where an employee’s salary stands compared to the midpoint of the salary band. It helps to ensure that an employee’s salary aligns with the market rate or internal pay structure. |
Reward letters |
Shows reward letters if created. |
Create reward letters to formally inform employees about changes to their compensation. |
Current/New on target earnings |
Summary of the base salary and goal bonus amount. |
Used if employees receive goal bonuses. |
Current/New split |
The ratio of base salary and bonus. |
Used if employees receive goal bonuses. |
Effective date |
Date when salary change of employees will apply. |

People list
The People list offers an overview of all participants of a Compensation Cycle to Compensation Admins and Cycle Managers.
To access it, follow these steps:
- Go to Compensation and select Manage cycle.
- Click on People list.
Features of the People list
The People list offers the same columns and customization options as the Worksheets. In addition, the following functionalities are available only in the People list:
- Export CSV Files: Download CSV files to get a summarized report of salary change proposals. This is useful for further analysis or record-keeping.
- Reward Letters: After completing a cycle, you can generate reward letters for employees, which formalize the outcomes of the compensation adjustments.
