The Performance and development app offers different features: Continuous feedback, Performance review cycles, Goals, and Training. When you implement the app, these features are only visible to Administrators by default.
You can decide when to make these features visible to all employees or when to hide them again.
Main benefits
Managing feature visibility helps you:
- Prepare before extending each feature to the whole company. For example, setting up feedback forms or drafting employee training.
- Hide features that you don't intend to use.
- Reduce noise and customize the Performance & Development area.
Before you start
To configure and manage feature visibility, you need to be a Personio Administrator.
Note that features are always visible for Administrators and employees with edit rights for the corresponding section in the Performance area. For example: If you have edit rights for cycles, you can access cycles regardless of the visibility settings.
Configure feature visibility
To configure feature visibility, follow these steps:
- Go to Performance > Manage > Feature visibility.
- A page opens that lists the Performance features: Cycles, Continuous Feedback, Goals, Training. Select the checkbox next to each feature to activate or clear it to deactivate it.
The sections below explain how these settings impact employees in Personio when each feature is deactivated after use.
Deactivate features after use
Once you make a feature available to all employees and use it, you can always deactivate it. When you do so, the following happens, depending on the feature:
Continuous feedback
- Employees can still see their sent and received feedback and pending requests.
- The Request and Give feedback buttons disappear.
- Supervisors can still add performance notes.
- Personio disables notifications.
Cycles
-
Administrators can view and edit existing cycles.
-
Supervisors without the necessary permissions cannot access the cycles page.
-
Received and given reviews remain available for employees in the Feedback section.
-
Open review tasks remain under Feedback > To do. Completing these tasks does not trigger notifications.
- The cycle widget in the performance overview page disappears.
Note that if you disable both Continuous feedback and Cycles, employees lose access to the Performance tab. Only Administrators can still access it. Personio still preserves existing reviews and open feedback requests.
Goals
- Employees cannot see the Goals section.
- Personio disables notifications and preserves all goals data.
Training
- Employees cannot see the Training section.
- Personio disables notifications and preserves all training data.
