This article explains how you can independently adjust your Personio plan. You can add seats, upgrade or downgrade your plan, and optimize your subscription with Personio Apps.

Before you start

• You need Administrator rights or edit rights to Subscription Management to adjust your Personio plan on your own.
• You can use self-service plan adjustments only if you're a monthly customer with fewer than 50 employee seats.

Add employee seats to your plan

As your company grows, you need more employee seats in Personio. Use the self-upgrade functionality to add employee licenses to your plan.

Follow these steps to add employee licenses:

1. Go to Settings.
2. In the Account & support section, click Subscription & billing. 
3. In Subscription, click Add seats.
4. Add the number of new seats you need.
5. In Summary checkout, review the changes and compare current vs. new costs.
6. Click Add seats and schedule payment.

Note:
The changes take effect immediately. Your billing price updates instantly. Personio prorates your additional costs based on your billing cycle. If you already have a discount, it remains in place. Learn how to perform an upgrade for more information.

Upgrade your plan and add apps

You might want to upgrade your plan to access extended functionalities. Learn about Personio plans for more details. 

Follow these steps to upgrade your plan:

1. Go to Settings.
2. In the Account & support section, click Subscription & billing. 
3. In Subscription, click Upgrade.
4. Upgrade your plan and choose the apps you need.
5. In Summary checkout, review the changes and compare current vs. new costs.
6. Click Upgrade and schedule payment.

Note:

Downgrade your plan and apps, or remove seats

Follow these steps to downgrade your plan, apps, or remove employee seats:

1. Go to Settings.
2. In the Account & support section, click Subscription & billing. 
3. In Subscription, click Schedule changes.
4. Adjust your plan, apps, or remove seats as needed. The minimum number of seats is 25. 
5. In Summary checkout, review the changes and compare current vs. new costs.
6. Click Schedule changes.

Personio schedules the changes for your next renewal date.

Tip:
You can still upgrade your plan, apps, or seats after performing a downgrade. Personio automatically updates your contract renewal details.
