This article explains how you can reset the password of another employee. If you want to reset your own password, see our article How do I reset my password?.
Note
The option to reset the password of another employee only becomes available once the employee has chosen a password at least once.
Send a password reset email
Note
To be able to send a password reset email, you need editing rights for Manage accounts under Settings > People > Employee Roles > Access rights.
If you need to reset the password of an employee, you can send them an email that contains a link with which they can reset their password. To do this, go to the relevant employee profile, click on the three dots icon and select Manage account. In the new window, select Send password reset email.
If you change the email address of an employee in their Personio profile, you also need to send a password reset email so the employee can log in with their new email address.
Change a password directly in an employee's profile
Note
Only Administrators can change the passwords of employees directly in their Personio profile.
If you need to change the password of an employee manually, for example, if they don't receive the password reset email, follow these steps:
- In the employee profile, click on the three dots icon and select Manage account.
- Click Set new password.
- Enter a password according to our requirements and click Submit.
The employee will now be able to log in with the new password.
