This article gives an overview of what employees can view and edit in the Performance & Development area, depending on their role and access rights. You can find this information for the following sections of the Performance & Development area.

Goals
Goals can be created, viewed, edited and deleted under Performance & Development > Goals.
The following table explains who can create goals for themselves or for others.

▶︎ Employees who can view a goal can also duplicate it, comment on it, export it to PDF, see its history, and see any organizational goal attached to it.
▶︎ Administrators and employees with edit rights for goals can choose whether employees can edit the goals assigned to them. They can also choose to let the employees update progress on such goals.
▶︎ Supervisors can choose whether their reports can edit their assigned goals. They can also choose to let the reports update progress on such goals.

Note Only Administrators and employees with edit rights for Performance & Development settings can create, edit and delete performance feedback forms.
Cycles and performance reviews
Performance cycles are the framework that helps you manage performance in Personio.
- To access all cycles, you need administrator access, or edit rights for cycles and cycle reviews.
- If you have custom edit rights for cycles and cycle reviews, you can view cycles for a defined group of employees only.
- To edit and archive a cycle, you need to be the cycle owner. You are only the owner of the cycles you create.
- If you are a supervisor, you can see the review cycles that your direct reports participate in, regardless of your access rights.

▶︎ Reviews are created, sent and received by employees within a performance review cycle. They are listed under Performance & Development > Cycles.

Employees with access to their "Own" data for Cycles and cycle reviews cannot see reviews about themselves, unless such reviews have been shared with them. However, they can allow the sharing of manager reviews, and therefore access them.
Performance notes
Performance notes are created under Performance & Development > Feedback, by Administrators or employees with edit rights for continuous feedback and performance notes. They are not visible to the employees they are created for. The following table explains who can see, edit and delete performance notes.

Continuous feedback
Continuous feedback is sent proactively via the Give feedback button under Performance & Development > Feedback. All employees can use this function to give feedback to anyone in the organization.
