This article explains how data is transferred to StepStone if a position is promoted via Personio's multi-posting feature, and how this data is fed into StepStone's design template. It also outlines certain quality requirements that need to be fulfilled for StepStone postings.
StepStone postings design
StepStone postings use a template called Liquid Design that divides postings into different boxes. Each box corresponds to a field from the position's Description within Personio. The table below outlines which box in StepStone corresponds to which section in the position description in Personio.
Box # | Section in StepStone | Edit in Personio | StepStone Liquid Design |
1 | Job title | Position description > Position name
2 | Company description (Introduction) | Settings > Recruiting > Career page > About us
3 | Tasks | Position description > Your mission
4 | Profile | Position description > Your profile
5 | What we can offer | Position description > Why us?
6 | Contact information | Settings > Recruiting > Job descriptions > Contact information |
Note
The preview of a posting does not appear as it will actually look on the job board.
Quality requirements
StepStone checks each posting manually before publishing it. There are several quality requirements that need to be met:
-
A company description is mandatory. This information is taken from the About us section in Personio.
-
No links are permitted in the job description fields (no link to the Kununu or LinkedIn profile of the company).
-
Job titles cannot be written in all capitalized letters.
-
Generally, the position's description, and especially the Tasks section, needs to be written in a detailed way.
For further details on StepStone's quality requirements, see StepStone's documentation.
Note
If quality requirements are not met, then StepStone will not publish the posting. In case the posting has been published already, it will be canceled and taken offline.

- Personio does not yet support remote positions or positions with several offices. For these use cases, please follow the instruction below.
Use cases: Positions with several offices or remote work
If you want to promote a position that is open for remote work or for more than one office, you need to clearly state this in your posting. This way, StepStone can make the necessary adjustments in your posting manually.
Several offices
To show that a position is available for work in different offices, you have two options:
▶︎ You can add an additional sentence in the Tasks section (Position description > Your mission) that states clearly that this position is available in different offices, and mention the locations.
▶︎ You can also create an Office with several locations. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Organization > Offices.
- In the New offices field, insert the name of the locations separated by commas.
- Then click Plus
. The different locations will then be shown in the metadata of the position.
Remote
To show that a position is available for remote work, you have two options:
▶︎ You can add an additional sentence in the Tasks section (Position description > Your mission) that states clearly that this position is remote.
▶︎ You can also create a remote Office. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Organization > Offices.
- In the New offices field, insert Remote.
- Then click Plus
. The metadata of the position will then show the location as Remote.
