December 2024

Employee Management

• You can now choose to display open positions from the Planning area in the Org Chart. To do so, add a Target supervisor to an open position in the Positions tab, and activate the Open positions customization card in the Org Chart.
• You can now oversee and manage company-wide workforce planning from a single tab with the new Workforce Planning app (Planning Cycles tab).

 

Payroll

• Preliminary payroll
  • We have introduced a visual redesign of the preliminary payroll settings, offering a modern, intuitive experience.
• PayInt
  • These integrations are only available for certain locales with content in the language of the integration and English.
  • You can now sync absences and compensations with the a3innuva Nómina integration.

• Salaries
  • We have updated the Salary imports, including currency and moving weekly hours to the employee data import.
• Compensation
  • The Compensation Management has been revamped as part of our redesign project. Discover the new features in our dedicated article.
  • The setting of effective dates has been relocated from the end of the cycle to the cycle setup and the Worksheets/Employee list depending on the access rights. Previously, this was the final step before syncing new salaries to the employee profile.

November 2024

Employee Management

• We've released the new Timesheet that makes it easier for your employees to track their time and monitor their attendance.
• You can now set up multi-weekly working hours. This helps you set up flexible work arrangements with a recurring pattern.
• We’ve introduced a new overtime overview to help you and your employees better understand overtime balances.
• You can now automatically translate attribute names and option values in the list of options attributes. Personio provides an auto-translation that you can accept, reject, or customize.
• We are adding more attributes to the Positions list in the Planning area. You can now use the following attributes: Target Supervisor, Target FTE, Actual FTE, and Hiring Manager.

 

Workflow Automation

• Approval chains are now available for attendance approval workflows! Assign up to four approvers per step, and create up to five steps in a workflow.

 

Documents & E-Signatures

• Control bulk document creation by category. Now, if a user has edit access to a document category, they can create documents for multiple employees at once.

 

Recruiting

• With our new insights tab, you can gain valuable insights into the hiring process of a specific job. New reporting charts allow you to identify inefficiencies and optimize the candidate experience.

 

Platform

• You can now access your latest payroll documents from the homepage, including your three most recent payslips.
• You can now view and download files on the mobile app. Use the widget filter to sort by category, with saved settings for future use. 

 

Payroll

October 2024

Employee Management

• Personio now autofills legal entity information for you, so you no longer need to enter the details manually. Simply select a country and search for the full name of the legal entity. The details are filled in automatically.
• When rehiring a former employee, you no longer need to create a new employee profile for them. You can use the rehire feature to transfer data from the inactive profile to a new one without manual entry.

 

Workflow Automation

• We're improving our workflow builder! When editing a workflow, you can now add steps at any point without deleting existing ones. 
• Users now get notifications when a workflow breaks. If a workflow is interrupted, due to missing attributes or deleted roles in a trigger, Personio sends the creator an email and Inbox notification. Notifications link to the workflow builder, where problems are highlighted for quick fixes.

 

Integrations

• We've added a monitoring tab for Identity and Access Management integrations. You can now track sync statuses, dates, and operations for each employee to troubleshoot issues.

 

Documents & E-Signatures

• Automated Signature Reminders are activated by default when requesting a document signature. These reminders help save time and avoid manual work. Choose how often to send reminders: daily, or weekly. Signers will get reminders by email at these times until they sign.

 

Platform

• The new mobile app streamlines time management with a calendar view. Track working hours, manage absences and attendances, and edit events. You can start and stop time tracking on both the mobile app and desktop, and they will stay synchronized.

 

Payroll

• Preliminary payroll
  • We have added the Employee Changes and Documents tabs to the preliminary payroll table, making it easier to review data changes in one go.
• Salaries
  • We have added an improved creation and management flow for base salaries in the Salary tab.
• PayInt
  These integrations are only available for certain locales with content in the language of the integration and English.
  • You can now sync your Personio absences to Xero Leave. Learn how to use the feature.
• Personio Payroll
  🇩🇪 This app is only available for companies based in Germany, with content in German and English.
  • We have added the new Tasks and Manage tabs to Personio Payroll. Now, managing your monthly to-dos and payroll settings is easier and more efficient than ever.

 

Compensation Management

• If you have set up the job architecture feature, you can now see salary band visualizations and compa-ratios in your Compensation Review Cycles.

• The Employee List and Org Chart are going through a redesign! You will soon be able to access information about your people with intuitive navigation, effortless filters, and saved views. Learn more about the redesign and its timeline.
• You can now set up a shared time-tracking device. Your employees can clock in and out using the device, without having to log in.

 

Workflow Automation

• Start using the new “A document is created from a template” event trigger to begin a workflow when someone creates a document from a template

 

EPD

Create and manage cycles with the new Dynamic Cycle Builder:

• Set up and manage cycles faster — for now, or for later.
• Choose participants with greater precision thanks to powerful filter options.
• Keep an overview through a new visual timeline.

• We've expanded the functionalities in the Insights tab. New filter options help you narrow down data to find the most relevant information. Additionally, more charts have been added to provide valuable insights into your hiring progress and process efficiency.
• Learn about our direct integrations with Google and Microsoft for outbound recruiting messages. These allow you to send messages to candidates via Personio using your custom email address, without the need to use SMTP with Basic Auth.

 

Platform

Employee Management

• Job-related attributes (Job Name, Job Level, Job Track, etc.) are now available as a single attribute in the employee list.
• Additionally, it's now possible to assign or edit job-related attributes in bulk via the employee list.
• The Position ID is also now available as an attribute in the employee list.
• Employees can now use the Time Tracking widget to track their working hours directly from their homepage.

 

Workflow Automation

• The Activity tab has been upgraded! We’ve added more filtering options, pagination, and an updated table design.

 

Recruiting

• We have improved our Recruiting reports. You can now see your relevant recruiting metrics in the new Insights tab.

 

Platform

• Portuguese is now available as a language option for personal settings.
• The Audit Log is now available to all customers. It tracks changes to company and employee data across Personio, showing who did what and when.
• We have added two new widgets to the homepage:
  • The new Announcements widget shows messages to all employees.
  • The Calendars widget shows events like absences and birthdays for coworkers across the company.

 

Payroll

• Preliminary payroll
  • The preliminary payroll section has gotten a makeover as part of our ongoing redesign project. Learn about what is new in our dedicated article.

• PayInt
  These integrations are only available for certain locales with content in the language of the integration and English.
  • The payroll integration Xero is now available for our customers based in the UK. Learn how to set up and use the integration.
  • Germany-based customers can now export data from Personio to ADP AdvancedPay (Paisy). Learn how to use this feature.

• Personio Payroll
  🇩🇪 This app is only available for companies based in Germany, with content in German and English.
  • You can now also set up old contracts based on § 40b EStG and agreements with one-time payments for company pension schemes (bAV) in Personio Payroll.

 

Personio Surveys

• The survey results overview now includes themes: quickly identify trends and glean insights by grouping questions into custom topics.

 

Compensation Management

• You can now see the last three salary changes when you hover over the icon next to the last increase date in the salary history column. This helps you make data-based decisions.

July 2024

Employee Management

• You can now prorate absence entitlements by weekly working hours. When you do, the system takes into account the Weekly hours attribute for the employee.

 

Workflow Automation

Workflows are now more flexible. You can:

• Edit active workflows with ease. Make changes directly to the workflow, and choose to save the edits as a draft or activate them immediately.
• Better define rules for triggers now that all custom attributes are available.
• Add multiple conditions and choose to trigger the workflow only when all conditions are met or when any condition is met.

 

Recruiting

• View your open to-dos (tasks and notifications) in the inbox widget of the Recruiting Home.

 

Payroll

• PayInt
  These integrations are only available for certain locales with content in the language of the integration and English.
  • You can now transfer absences to DATEV. Click here to find out how you can make full use of the function.

• Personio Admins can now create reward letters via the bulk documentation creation flow. With just a few clicks, create and distribute reward letters to employees within the Compensation review cycles.

Employee Management

• If you have employees in the Netherlands, you can now set up separate statutory and non-statutory entitlement in a single absence type.
• You can now add an expiration date to absence balance adjustments.

 

Workflow Automation

• You can now use “General” and “Number” custom attribute types to create rules for workflow triggers, Absence types are now available to use when creating conditions for “Relative to a date” triggers.

 

Documents & E-Signatures

• Users with access rights can now send signature reminders via the Documents tab of an employee profile.

 

Payroll

• Personio Payroll
  🇩🇪 This app is only available for companies based in Germany, with content in German and English.
  • You can now manage company pension plans (bAV) for your employees with Personio Payroll. 
  • Set up and create the Accounting Report and connect your company’s payroll data with its finance and accounting data.
  • If you have employees with hourly wages, Personio now creates automated contribution estimates to be sent with your contribution statement.

 

Compensation Management

• We have updated the visibility of widgets in the Salary tab. Employees now see only those widgets they have assigned a compensation type for, and if they have at least viewing rights for their salary tab.

 

May 2024

Employee Management

• Employees can now copy hours to any day of the current month, except for those when a restriction is applied. Additionally, you now can import relative balance adjustment with a future date and restrict your employees from adding time entries to any other day than today.
• When generating a Beta Report, you can now also access a full list of employees considered in a specific segment, including their name, surname, legal entity, department, and team.
• You can now configure hierarchical departments and teams to better reflect the complexity of your company's organizational structure. As part of this release, we have also moved the weekly working hours' settings from the Department's settings to the Employee profile. The previously configured full-time weekly working hours (example: 40 hours for the Sales department) will now automatically appear in the relevant employee's Employee profile (example: 30/40 hours).
• You can now configure your company’s job architecture in Personio. This allows you to standardize all the job information (Job name, Job family, Job track and Job level, and Salary band), and also to manage all open and filled positions from the Planning area.

 

Integrations

• Our Google Workspace Directory Sync integration creates Google Accounts for new employees and deactivates Google Accounts of inactive employees. It also updates Google Account details when employee details change in Personio.
• Our Atlassian Directory Sync integration updates managed Atlassian accounts with Personio attributes and deactivates Atlassian profiles if an employee is inactive in Personio.

 

Workflow Automation

New signature status update workflows: 

• We’ve added a new trigger that starts a workflow once a signature request’s status changes. See how to create a workflow using this trigger. 
• Try using one of the four new workflow templates we’ve added for common use cases.

 

Documents & E-Signatures

• You can now update employees about a change in a signature request’s status. Find out more in the Workflow Automation area.

 

Platform

• Our new Audit Log for Personio Payroll tracks changes to company and employee data within different areas and features of your account. The Audit Log provides an overview of events and their order, showing who did what and when.

 

Payroll

• Preliminary payroll:
  • You can now add hourly absences to the preliminary payroll table. Depending on the type of absence, you can also add additional absence attributes. Find out more in our article on setting up preliminary payroll. 

• PayInt
  These integrations are only available for certain locales with content in the language of the integration and English.
  • You can now create DATEV exports after the previous month has ended (for example, you can create an export for April even if it is May). This gives you more flexibility in completing the payroll, especially for users whose payroll period corresponds to the calendar month. This function is available for all DATEV exports.

• Personio Payroll
  🇩🇪 This app is only available for companies based in Germany, with content in German and English.
  • You can now add and manage company cars with Personio Payroll. Find out more about the functionality and restrictions, as well as general payroll knowledge about company cars.

• With the new functionality, Compensation admin can set up the approval flow by excluding supervisors who shouldn't be included in the review cycle

 

Personio Surveys

You can now create reports to share your survey results with relevant stakeholders:

• Create custom reports and share them with anyone in the organization.
• Automatically create reports for the supervisors whose team participates in the survey.
