In this article, you will learn how to integrate JOIN in Personio. You will get an overview of the requirements, together with instructions, for setting up the integration with the Personio Recruiting API.

 

What is JOIN?

JOIN is a talent attraction software that includes a multi-posting solution that helps companies to generate more candidates with minimal effort. Recruiters can create simple and visually appealing job ads that are optimized for helping as many candidates as possible to apply. All jobs are automatically published on at least ten free job boards.

 

How do I Set Up the Integration Between JOIN and Personio?

This integration needs access to the Personio Recruiting API. To grant this access, follow these steps in Personio:

  1. Go to the Marketplace and search for the integration.
  2. Click on the integration to open the drawer with further details.
  3. Select Connect.
  4. The next screen displays your Recruiting API credentials. Copy your company ID and access token and click Go to website to finish the setup in the partner's service environment.

In your JOIN account, you then need to enter the following details from your Personio account to set up the integration:

  • Company ID
  • Recruiting API access token
  • Company Name

You will find your company account name in your Personio account's URL (myaccount.personio.com).

Make sure that the XML Feed is activated in Personio. To do so, go to Settings > Recruiting > Recruiting > Career page.

Optional Steps in Personio for the Integration Activation

  1. You can create a JOIN channel to tag the candidate as coming from JOIN. To do this, navigate to Settings > Recruiting > Recruiting > Channels and create a new option by entering a name (for example JOIN) and clicking the + button. Once done, you can copy the Channel ID.
  2. You can also create a custom candidate attribute to have the original source (for example Indeed, Stepstone) be displayed in Personio. To do this, navigate to Settings > Recruiting > Recruiting > Attributes > Candidate profile and add a new attribute by entering a name (for example JOIN original source) and selecting text type, and saving it. Once done, you can copy the API name.

 

What Data is Transferred?

JOIN retrieves the job ad data from Personio to create the jobs on JOIN. Applicants who applied via JOIN are then sent back to Personio via API.

 

What are the Costs?

JOIN operates using a freemium business model. Customers who want to use the integration need to have an active subscription (starting at €90 / month).

Payment is possible on a monthly or yearly basis and mostly scales with the number of jobs published.
