Overview of Personio subscriptions: plans, recruiting options and add-ons

This article provides an overview of the various options for customizing your Personio plan according to your company’s specific needs and preferences.

You can choose from the following three add-ons: Essential, Professional, and Enterprise.


Each plan includes the HR Management product as standard. You can subscribe to optional extras such as Recruiting or Performance and Development as required. Select the add-on modules you need to customize your Personio plan.

See below for brief summaries of the HR Management (HRM) and Recruiting (REC) functions available with each of the plans.


Essential Plan

Personio’s Essential Plan provides a sound basis for 21st-century HR and payroll management.

Professional Plan

Choose the Professional Plan to raise your HR work to the next level with extended functions. The Professional Plan comprises all functions available with the Essential Plan plus:

HRM Employee onboarding and offboarding

Extended document management with:

  • freely definable document categories
  • up to 5 MB storage per employee

Extended reports on:

  • Absences
  • Fluctuation
  • Application Process
Google SSO (single sign-on for faster login)
REC Candidate evaluation forms

Recruiting XML feed and API for:

  • integrating job ads created in Personio into an existing career page
  • directly transferring incoming applications to Personio

Personio Marketplace


Enterprise plan

The Enterprise Plan allows you to successfully manage even complex HR processes in large companies. The Enterprise Plan comprises all functions available with the Professional Plan plus:

In addition to HR management, you can also book the Recruiting tool. Depending on how many positions you want to publish, you can select the version Small, Medium or Large of the Recruiting tool. The functions provided with Recruiting depend on the chosen Personio plan as described above.



Performance and Development

The Performance and Development tool lets you manage and track employee performance and development. It lets you create automated review cycles which support 360° feedback with a Performance Cycle Builder, and manage training courses with a Training Management feature.

With this tool, you have access to features such as Performance Notes, Performance Meetings and additional feedback features, as well as goal tracking, in your Personio profile. 


Personio Conversations

Personio Conversations is a workplace requests tool that provides your internal service teams with a centralized place to manage employee requests and deliver support at scale. With Conversations, you have access to advanced functionalities in request organization, projects, outreach, and external collaboration.

Conversations is available as an additional extra for customers on all Personio plans. There are two packages available: Standard and Premium. Some functionalities, including Analytics, Customization and SLAs, are only available to customers on the Premium package. Conversations is currently available in English and German only.



The following three add-ons are available: Automation Plus, Customization Plus and Productivity Plus.


Productivity Plus

Work faster and more efficiently thanks to email and document templates, among others.

E-Signatures: The Productivity Plus Add-On has a contingent of electronic signatures available, depending on the size of your Personio account. In addition, you have the option of booking an unlimited contingent for electronic signatures.
