How to upgrade your plan
You can upgrade your plan yourself within Personio at any time, regardless of your method of payment. To do so, navigate to Settings > Subscription and Billing > Subscription. For further information, read our article on how to manage your Personio plan.
Only Administrators and Contract Owners can perform an upgrade. If you have one or both rights but cannot upgrade your plan, you can contact your Growth Manager for more information via the contact form in the Find Answers section.
How upgrades are billed
The selected upgrade will apply from the time you make this change, and your credit card will be debited to the nearest hour for the respective surcharge. The upgrade consists of two components:
- Prorated calculation of the new plan to the next billing period
- Prorated credit for the invoice already paid
The image below illustrates the calculation of the upgrade charge for a monthly billing cycle. In the example shown, the billing date is the 28th of each month. The upgrade date is January 8.
The example invoice below shows the prorated charges for a new plan for the period from May 27 to June 13.
The new employee plan was adjusted to <300. The selected add-ons (Productivity Plus, Automation Plus, and Customization Plus) were also recalculated at the same time the number of employees was increased. Recruiting Option M was added to the plan at the same time.
You will find all components of your updated Personio plan listed in the prorated invoice. The invoice is automatically sent to the email address stored in Personio.
Since payment for the period from May 13 to June 13 has already been made, a credit for the period from May 27 to June 13 was issued at the same time to ensure that this period was not charged twice.
Credit notes are shown in Settings > Subscription and Billing > Credit notes. Please note that credit notes are not emailed automatically.
The previous plan included 250 employees. In the example shown, three add-ons to the plan were selected (Productivity Plus, Automation Plus, and Customization Plus). The applicable reimbursement for these four components to the nearest hour is made via the credit note.
You can view and download your invoices and credit notes in Personio by going to Settings > Plan & Billing > Invoices or Settings > Plan & Billing > Credit notes.
