Managing time off and tracking time are the experiences your employees use most often in Personio. We have received feedback from many of you on these features. We have considered this feedback, and we’re improving our Time Management features. This will make it easier for you and your employees to:

- Access and digest key time information at a glance.
- Stay informed about your teams’ attendance and availability.

Enhanced time off request flow
We are introducing a new time off request flow that automatically displays:
- Overlapping teammates' time off
- Total days to be deducted according to work schedule and public holidays
- Remaining time off balance
With this improvement, employees can make informed decisions about their time off. Additionally, the new flow reduces scheduling conflicts and ensures your staffing needs are met.
Unified hub for time management
Our new unified hub consolidates all aspects of time management in one place. The new Time off & Attendance area now contains:
- An improved Team Calendar
- Your time off and attendance overviews

We are also simplifying our terminology: we now use the term “Time off” across the platform to refer to “Time off, “Leaves”, and “Time off”. This change only applies to the English version of Personio.
This reduces confusion and makes it easier for you to navigate and understand different aspects of time management.
Improved team calendar functionality
Our improved team calendar now provides smart filters and saved views, and we’re moving pending time off approvals to the inbox. With these tools, you have easier access to your team availability, enhancing team coordination. For example, you can filter by clock in status for an overview of your employees’ live attendance. The calendar shows a monthly view, and you can use the arrows to navigate through or jump from month to month to view past and future time off.
We are streamlining the time off colour options from 12 to 8. This enhances theme compatibility and ensures high contrast in dark mode. If you’re using discontinued colours, you will be automatically migrated to the closest match.
Location-bound time tracking
With this new feature, you can record your employees' location when they track their working hours. You can set it up for specific workplaces and review time entries recorded somewhere else.
Employees can choose to save their location automatically or confirm it with each action. This increases reliability, particularly for remote or travelling roles.
