The Performance & Development area offers different features: Continuous feedback, Performance review cycles, Goals and Training. When you implement the Performance & Development app, these features are by default only visible to Administrators.
If you are an Administrator, you can decide when to make these feature visible to all employees, or when to hide them once more.
Main benefits
Managing feature visibility empowers you to:
- Prepare before extending each feature to the whole company. For example, setting up feedback forms, or drafting employee trainings.
- Hide features that you don't intend to use.
- Reduce noise and customize the Perfomance & Development area.
Note that features are always visible for Administrators, and employees with edit rights for the corresponding section in the Performance & Development area. For example: If you have edit rights for cycles, you can access cycles regardless of the visibility settings.
Manage feature visibility
To manage feature visibility, follow these steps:
- Go to Performance & Development > Settings > Feature visibility.
- A page opens that lists the Performance & Development features: Cycles, Continuous Feedback, Goals, Training. Click the checkbox next to each feature to activate or to deactivate it.
The sections below explain how these settings impact employees in Personio, when each feature is deactivated after use.
Deactivate features after use
Once you make a feature available to all employees, and used it, you can always deactivate it. When doing so, the following happens, depending on the feature:
Continuous feedback
- Employees can still see their sent and received feedback, and pending requests.
- The Request and Give feedback buttons disappear.
- Supervisors can still add performance notes.
- Notifications are disabled.
Cycles
-
Administrators can view and edit existing cycles.
-
Supervisors without the necessary access rights cannot access the cycles page.
-
Received and given reviews remain available for employees in the Feedback section.
-
Open review tasks remain under Feedback > To do. Completing these tasks does not trigger notifications.
Note that if you disable both Continuous feedback and Cycles, employees lose access to the Feedback section. Existing reviews and open feedback requests are still preserved in Personio.
Goals
- Employees cannot see the Goals section.
- Notifications are disabled, and all goals data is preserved.
Training
- Employees cannot see the Training section.
- Notifications are disabled, and all training data is preserved.
