Publish and Promote Positions

This article explains how you can publish job openings quickly and easily on your Personio career page, advertise them on external job portals and use tracking links for external recruiting channels. These options save you a lot of time and work. You also have access to an overview of all your postings and are able to track where applications come from.

Publishing on the Personio Career Page

Post a job opening on your Personio career page by navigating to Recruiting > Job overview > Show position details in the relevant job details and clicking on Publish. The job opening will then be immediately published on your Personio career page under
⚠️ For Personio accounts created on or after November 25, 2020, this URL will be

Use the filter function to display only those openings in the job overview that are relevant to you, i.e. those that you have viewing or editing rights for. You also have the option of filtering by category and position to refine your selection.

Only published job openings can be retrieved via the XML feed.

Also note that you can't remove all of the vacant job openings from the published job position or delete all of the text from the job description. If you did, the status of the job position would change to Draft, and it would no longer appear on your Personio career page. You could no longer receive applications for it.

Using Multiposting to Publish to External Job Portals

If you wish to advertise a position on external job portals via Personio (using multiposting), navigate either to Recruiting > Job overview and click on the Promotion button, or go to Recruiting > Job overview > Show position details and click on the Promotion tab in the detail view of a job position. The My postings section shows an overview of postings already made on external job portals, and you can also add new postings here. Click on Promote to see an overview of all available job portals and start the posting. For detailed information about multiposting, please refer to this article.

You'll be taken to the overview page showing external job portals. Select all job portals where you would like to publish your job ad, then click on Next. Use the preview window to review the contents to be transmitted to the job portal by Personio. Depending on the type of ad you select, the job portal may adapt the design of the posting to its own website layout or use the design shown in the preview. Click on Proceed to checkout to review your order and finalize it by clicking on Place order. Click here for an overview of all job portals available via Personio.

Ensure that your payment information is stored in your account under Settings > Plan & Billing > Billing information so that publication costs can be settled via Personio. You'll also find all of your invoices here for download.

If you already have individual frame contracts in place with any job portals, these can be stored directly in Personio. Personio will then not calculate any further charges for the respective portal. The billing for the publications occurs between you and the portal. See this article for further information on storing frame contracts.

Alternatively, if your desired job portal is not available through Personio's multiposting function, you may add previously published job openings in the Tracking links section. Use this function to have an overview of these job openings and to be able to track the application channel for your analyses.

Using Tracking Links for External Recruiting Channels

If you advertise a position on an external job portal outside of Personio (without using Personio's multiposting function), you can store a tracking link for the position you have created in Personio with the respective portal provider. The tracking links for the position are shown in Recruiting > Job overview > Show position details> Promote > Tracking links in your account.

If you want to create a tracking link for a new channel, you need to add the channel first in Settings > Recruiting > Channels.

Each tracking link contains the tracking parameter for the respective recruiting channel, which allows the source channel of incoming applications to be clearly identified. This tracking link serves to direct candidates to the Personio application form and allows you to track the channel the respective candidate used to access the posting. This information is used for analyzing the Channel performance in the Position details.

Please refer to this article for further information and detailed instructions for how to set up new recruiting channels and creating and using tracking links.

Channel Performance

You can see which channel is most effective for your job openings by looking at the Position details of each job opening in the Channel performance section and in Applications.
