Step 6: Creating External Channels

This article will explain how to publish job openings quickly and easily directly from Personio, in just a few clicks. In addition, you will learn which settings are required for correct channel tracking. This will save you the time and effort involved in submitting the job openings separately to each job portal.

Publishing on the Personio Career Page

In the Recruiting section, navigate to the Job overview tab and select the position to be advertised. Edit the position via View job details > Edit and fill out the relevant fields. Please note that fields marked with * in the meta information are mandatory for job publications via Personio. Then click on Save to save the changes you have made.

When you have filled out all the details, click the Publish button to publish the job opening on your Personio career page. Alternatively, you can publish a job opening quickly and easily on your Personio career page by navigating to Recruiting > Job overview and clicking on Publish.

If you use the Personio career page, the candidate response is tracked automatically, so no further settings are necessary. All applications received via your Personio career page will have the My career page channel added to the corresponding profile by default.

The Professional and Enterprise plans include the provision of an XML interface. If this option is enabled in Settings > Recruiting > Career page, job openings with Published status can also be accessed via the XML feed. Click here to find out how to integrate job openings via the XML interface.

Publishing on External Job Portals via Multi-Posting

Back in the detail view of the job opening, you can access an extensive list of external job portals via Post on job portals. You can find an overview of all the job portals currently available via Personio here.

Free portals are listed at the top, and job portals matching your needs are suggested under Premium Boards based on the information entered in the job posting. The Further information section contains information about the niche and type of job opening, as well as details on the duration, price and country of publication.

Please note that you must complete the steps described in this article if you wish to publish job openings externally via multi-posting.

Select the appropriate language from the list of options. Then activate the checkbox for all job portals where you want to publish the position and click on Next. Review your order and finalize it by clicking on Place order.

If you use your own corporate career page instead of the Personio career page and at the same time also use the multi-posting function, enter the correct URL for the job opening and the associated application form under Job opening > Edit > Job postings

Please note: Based on the "URL for your job opening and application form" entered under Settings > Recruiting > Career page, you will be shown a suggestion that you can either accept or overwrite.

Save the entries you have added by clicking the Save button.

Manual Publishing on External Job Portals

In addition to multi-posting, job openings can also be published manually on job portals outside of Personio. Create a channel in Personio for each job portal so that you can track the candidate response. To do this, navigate to Settings > Recruiting > Channels.

Open the required position via Recruiting > Job overview > View job details and add the previously created channel using the Share with tracking link button.

Select the required channel and click on Add. A URL with tracking parameters is then shown for the relevant channel and job opening. Copy this URL and include it in your posting when you publish it.

Candidates reach the relevant job ad on your Personio careers page via the tracking URL stored with the ad. As they do so, they are automatically linked to their originating channel.

Position Performance

You can see which channel is most effective for your job postings by looking at the job details of each job opening in the Channel performance section under Job details.
