This article explains how to use text blocks for selection according to your company’s internal guidelines.

Create a Text Template

Create a text document in MS Office (DOCX/DOTX format) or OpenOffice (ODT/OTT format) and enter the text you wish to have in your template.

Text Block Overview

The following table provides an overview of the syntax used to compose text blocks for selection in documents, and how the text alternatives are ultimately shown in your document management.

Word Documents:

1. Block_name: This text block is for your information only. It is not shown in the final document.

2. Option_name 1: Enter a description for your option here, for example "excellent" or "average." This is not shown in the final document.

3. Sample_text 1: Enter the actual text as you want it to appear in your final document here. You can, of course, use placeholders, gender variables and date formatting as part of this text.

4. Option_name 2: Add several options.

5. Block_name: This text block is for your information in your document management.

6. Select the available alternatives in your document management.

7. How the text will appear in the final document.
