This article describes how you can assign public holiday calendars for your entire company and for different offices.
Note Assigning public holiday calendars is essential to ensure that paid vacation and sick days are deducted and attendances and overtime are recorded correctly.
Assign a Company-Wide Public Holiday Calendar
Assign a general public holiday calendar to your company. This calendar automatically applies to all your locations, provided that public holidays are configured as Same as company for the respective office in Settings > Organization > Offices.
Note Assigning a new public holiday calendar afterward will affect previous attendances and absences. Attendances and absences will be recalculated based on the new calendar.
You need to make the following settings in your Personio account to do this:
- Go to Settings > Organization > Company, and click Edit.
- In Public holidays, open the drop-down menu, and select the desired public holiday calendar from the displayed System holiday calendars or the Custom public holiday calendars.
- Then Submit to confirm your selection.
Note If the desired public holiday calendar does not appear in the selection, you first need to integrate it into your Personio account. Learn how to Configure Public Holiday Calendars and Public Holidays.
Assign Specific Public Holiday Calendars to Individual Offices
In addition to the general Company Calendar, you can also store public holiday calendars for individual offices of your company. This is useful if you have offices in more than one country, federal state or province.
This is done as follows:
- Go to Settings > Organization > Offices.
- Select the office you want to amend, and click Edit next to the office name.
- In Public holidays, open the drop-down menu, and select the desired public holiday calendar from the displayed System holiday calendars or the Custom public holiday calendars.
- Then Submit to confirm your selection.
